Job Description Sabre Airline Solutions is a complete business partner and provides comprehensive technology solutions that give airlines the freedom to better market their airline, sell their products, serve their customers and efficiently operate the way they want. This position, Director of Software Development , will be part of the Airline Solutions Product and Development Group which is responsible for design and development of software solutions for the Airline Solutions portfolio, which includes SabreSonic Customer Sales and Service, Sabre AirCentre Enterprise Operations, and Sabre AirVision Marketing and Planning. POSITION PURPOSE As a Director of Software Development for Load Manager, SmartFlow and IROPS , this role will provide Leadership and Management of Application Development, Operational Stability, Software Development Activities, and Product Quality. This role will work in-close collaboration with Enterprise Architects, Application Architects, Development Team and Peers to create & successfully execute the Technology Strategy for Airline Solutions SabreSonic Applications. GENERAL DESCRIPTION The successful candidate would have about 12 years of experience within Technology with excellent communication skills: verbal & written. The successful candidate will have Experience with enterprise software and /or platforms that must perform at scale. The successful candidate will demonstrate an In-depth understanding of processes and procedures, SDLC process, Tools and Resources. The successful candidate will focus on solutions, delivery, and architecture of software solutions for complex business requirements. The successful candidate will focus on leading the team to develop and implement configurability, manageability, reliability, and performance across the applications. The successful candidate should be able to provide technical leadership, collaborate with business partners and have proven track of record leading and managing global Agile teams and organizations. The successful candidate would require skills beyond general programming and software development in the following areas: object-oriented and component-oriented design and modeling skills, developing and implementing designs that address reliability, manageability, scalability and performance requirements for complex e-commerce applications. ACCOUNTABILITIES/DUTIES Manage a team of developers, QA’s and close working relationship with Analysts, Architects & other teams towards solution development & delivery. Mentor and help development teams implement the architectural vision across various projects. Be a key driver to Design, develop and implement Technology Strategy for the product area. Job Requirements ACADEMIC: Candidate should have a BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent. Desired Practical experience of designing and building enterprise or distributed software systems. Demonstrable experience in the techniques used to build highly scalable and performance systems. Experience with metadata driven development techniques and code generation. Good working knowledge of open source java projects and technologies. Experience in Agile methodology.
